Dumbarton Bridge lanes to close for construction

Several lanes will be closed to motorists on weeknights through August

Up to two traffic lanes in each direction will be closed during weeknights on the six-lane Dumbarton Bridge starting around 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 31, and continuing through August, the Toll Bridge Program Oversight Committee reported Monday.

The lanes will be closed so seismic retrofit work can be undertaken, including reinforcing the existing concrete slab bridge, replacing major deck joints and installing isolation bearings. The pedestrian/bicycle path will remain open.
