Sheriff: Rash of vehicle break-ins

The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office is reminding visitors and residents to safeguard their vehicles in the wake of a series of break-ins. In particular, lock your doors.

There have been a number of break-ins in unlocked vehicles in the Portola Valley and Woodside area. Also, several unlocked vehicles in the Brandywine Road area of the Eichler Highlands have been burglarized recently, the Sheriff's Office said.

Anyone who observes suspicious activity is asked to call 911 or notify the Sheriff's Office at (650) 363-4911.
