Catching a ride on Bay Area public transit no longer requires swapping between paper and plastic passes. SamTrans now accepts Clipper Cards, fare cards used on BART, Caltrain, AC Transit, Golden Gate Ferry, and Muni.
Spokeswoman Tasha Bartholomew said customers riding the northbound KX bus to San Francisco will need to run their Clipper cards both upon entering the bus and exiting, but all other routes only require one reading.
According to a press release, monthly paper passes will be phased out by the end of the year.
