Thursday: Service for Artemis Curusis of Atherton

A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 7, in San Mateo for Atherton resident Artemis (Artie) Curusis, who died April 4 with her family at her side.

The service will start at 7 p.m. at Sneider Mortuary, 977 El Camino Real.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 8, at the Church of the Holy Cross at 900 Alameda de las Pulgas in Belmont.

Born in 1924 in New Jersey, she moved to California after her marriage in 1945, and has lived in Atherton since 1972.

She spent many years as an employee of the Jefferson Elementary School District in Daly City, and was active in the Peninsula Volunteers, the Peninsula Children's Center, her bridge groups, and her china painting class, family members said.

She is survived by Harry, her husband of 65 years; her brother, George Eurotas; her daughters, Patricia Herriott and Donna Bailey; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
