Menlo Park man, 51, robbed of wallet

It apparently didn't matter that a 51-year-old Menlo Park man had linked his wallet to his belt loop. While walking in the 1100 block of Willow Road on Thursday, May 19, a young man came up behind the man, pulled on his attached wallet and got away with it, police said.

The suspect ran behind an apartment building but the victim and suspect encountered each again a few minutes later, according to Nicole Acker, spokeswoman for the Menlo Park Police Department.

The victim demanded the return of his wallet, but the suspect told him he'd have to fight for it, at which point the victim retreated and the suspect ran off, police said.

There were no injuries.

Police are looking for a Hispanic man about 25 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall with shoulder length black hair and weighing about 185 pounds. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.

who walks around with their wallet hanging out anyways. There's got to be more to the story than what the "victim" is claiming

Sad, the wallet was most likely in the guy's pocket, but since it was chained, the suspect just had to pull on the chain to get the wallet.

Sad, what makes you think it was linked by the chain but not in his wallet? Where would it be, otherwise - just hanging?

So sad, do you think the wallet was attached by a chain & just hanging there, not in his pocket?

An armed society is a police society.
