Today: Historical group holds ice cream social

Menlo Park association gathers in park

The Menlo Park Historical Association serves up ice cream and local lore on Sunday, June 26.

Each year, the Kavanaugh family donates ice cream and toppings for the gathering. Anyone interested in the city's history is welcome to attend, and encouraged to bring a "white elephant" item for a raffle, according to association secretary Frank Helfrich.

The annual social starts at 2 p.m. in Burgess Park at 701 Laurel Street.
