District 52 Little League tournament results

Alpine Super Bowl Majors completed their tournament with a 3-2 win over Palo Alto National for a 4-0 mark in their final report card.

MA Super Bowl Minors made it to the finals but lost a close contest to Hillsborough to finish 3-1.

In other tournament action in District 52:

9-10 years old; Alpine celebrated a 6th inning win June 25, holding off Palo Alto National 13-10. Palo Alto had scored 7 runs in the bottom of the 5th, to tie the game, 10-10. Alpine scored 3 in the top of 6 th inning. Palo Alto was able to load the bases in the bottom of 6 before the final out. Alpine played Palo Alto American Friday. MA lost to Redwood City National, and played San Carlos American in an elimination game last Thursday. Results had not been posted by our deadline.

10-11 years old: MA lost to Redwood City National in the opening round and played next against Half Moon Bay. On Thursday, MA won the close 5-4 contest with Half Moon Bay, when Peter Larson singled and Tom Stanbach scored the walk off winning run. Alpine lost to Hillsborough in the first round, and played an undetermined team Friday. Either team still faces elimination with a loss in their next game.

11-12 years old: Alpine won over San Mateo National Saturday in the tournament debut and played Half Moon Bay last Friday. The loser fell to the elimination bracket. MA lost to Half Moon Bay 6/28 to begin their run and played an elimination game against San Mateo National on Thursday night. MA started strong with 2 runs in the first. The team bats stayed hot featuring two home runs on their way to a 6-2 win. MA played next on Sunday against a team that had not been determined by our deadline.
