This weekend: 25th Connoisseurs' Marketplace

A collectors' car show is a new feature of this year's Connoisseurs' Marketplace street festival, to be held Saturday and Sunday, July 16-17, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day on downtown Santa Cruz Avenue in Menlo Park.

This is the 25th Connoisseurs' Marketplace. The annual event, which began in 1987, is hosted by the Menlo Park Chamber of Commerce and takes place on Santa Cruz Avenue from El Camino Real to Johnson Street. Admission is free. Pets are not allowed at the festival.

In addition to the collectors' car show, there will be live music, art, crafts, chefs' demos, a green-products showcase, food and drink, a kids' fun zone and more.

Come visit the Almanac booth near Fremont Park at Santa Cruz Avenue and University Drive.

Street closures, parking

Santa Cruz Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic from El Camino Real to Johnson Street for the two-day festival. Parking will be available in the parking plazas adjacent to Santa Cruz Avenue, on side streets surrounding the festival area, and at the Caltrain station on Merrill Street. The weather was fabulous but this years music in the park was not as good as years past.
The band sang off tine and the music was louder than usual. The crowd seemed a lot smaller as well than in years past. A different band this year. Maybe not the best idea.
