Saturday: Portola Art Gallery reception

 

An exhibition of paintings by Marsha Heimbecker, "Memories of Youth, Orphaned Elephants of Tsavo," is on display at the Portola Art Gallery in Menlo Park.

Her series is inspired by the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, a refuge for the protection and preservation of Africa's wilderness, particularly for endangered species such as elephants.

A reception will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at the gallery in Allied Arts Guild at 75 Arbor Road. The gallery is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
