Heavy truck traffic near Crystal Springs Dam

The San Francisco Water Department provided this update today (Oct. 11).

Near the southern trailhead of Sawyer Camp Trail, work continues on the Lower Crystal Springs Dam stilling basin.

On Wednesday, Oct. 12, from 2 a.m. to 5 p.m., heavy truck traffic is expected on Skyline Boulevard., Crystal Springs Road, and Polhemus Road. Ninety concrete truck deliveries will take place to complete a portion of the stilling basin.

The project team continues to work nights and weekends in the area near Skyline Boulevard and Crystal Springs Road in order to complete work prior to winter storms.

This work is part of the $4.6 billion Water System Improvement Program to repair, replace and seismically upgrade the Hetch Hetchy Regional Water System.

What is a good detour to avoid the construction area when bicycling Woodside to San Bruno? Thanks.
