The entire Sawyer Camp Trail will be closed for two days — Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 19-20 — to prepare for the rainy season at construction sites near the trail, according to Nicole Ziman, a public outreach staffer with the Hetch Hetchy Regional Water System.

Some 100 trucks will deliver rock to complete new access road segments that run along the water pipeline, she said. These access roads will enable repairs and maintenance of the Crystal Springs/San Andreas Pipeline without driving on Sawyer Camp Trail.

The trail will reopen at sunrise Friday, October 21.

The work is part of the $4.6 billion Water System Improvement Program to repair, replace and seismically upgrade the Hetch Hetchy Regional Water System.

People can call (866) 973-1476 anytime with questions or concerns, she said. You can subscribe to the e-newsletter for updates by going to www.sfwater.org/SCT .
