Wednesday: Walk to school day in Woodside

 

Woodside Elementary School students will hit the streets Wednesday morning, Oct. 26, for their second annual Walk To School day.

All the school's students have all been encouraged to walk, bike or use anything other than gasoline-powered vehicles to get to school that day.

"School buses" of walking students will converge on the school from Canada, Miramontes, Mountain Home and Tripp roads between 7:30 a.m. and 8:15 am.

Last year, event organizer Millo Fenzi says, 310 of the school's students participated in the event, with a few even arriving on horseback.

The PTA will serve hot cocoa to all participants and the Woodside Town Council has been invited to join the students.
