Adolescent Counseling Services (ACS), a community-based nonprofit, will host an open education forum on teen substance use on Thursday, Nov. 10.
The free forum will be held from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Menlo-Atherton High School's Performing Arts Center (PAC) cafeteria, located at 555 Middlefield Road in Atherton.
Speakers include ACS Director of Outpatient Counseling Connie Mayer and Amy Shull, program manager at StarVista, the new incarnation of Youth and Family Enrichment Services (YFES).
ACS Director Philippe Rey encourages parents, guardians, students and community members to participate.
"Teen substance use has changed since parents were kids," he said in a press release. "This forum will enhance the understanding of current teen usage, increase awareness of the types of substances teens are using, discuss the signs to look for, and address talking openly as a family about drug and alcohol use."
