A Mass for Nancy DiSanto of Ladera will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at St. Denis Catholic Church, 2250 Avy Ave. in Menlo Park. Viewing will be at 10 a.m.

Ms. DiSanto, a nurse and an active community volunteer, died Nov. 19, due to complications from breast cancer. She was 48.

Born in the Philippines, she grew up in San Diego, where she obtained her registered nurse and bachelor of science in nursing degrees at San Diego State University.

After marrying Jim DiSanto in 1991, the couple settled in Ladera in 1993. Ms. DiSanto worked as a registered nurse in the intensive care unit and the neurosurgery departments at Stanford Hospital.

She was an active community volunteer and served as coach and assistant for her daughters’ volleyball teams at La Entrada Middle School. An avid volleyball player herself, she took pride in training her daughters in the sport, say family members.

The DiSanto family is establishing a nonprofit foundation in her honor. Gifts will be donated in support of breast cancer research. More details will be available on the forthcoming website for the Nancy DiSanto Memorial Charity Foundation for Breast Cancer Research.
