Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Menlo Park residents who want to learn about making their homes more energy efficient with a little help from rebates from the state of California can attend a city workshop on the Energy Upgrade California program on Monday, Dec. 5, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The location will be given to those who register.

The program offers rebates of $4,000 to $10,000 for energy-efficient home improvements. The basic package offers a rebate of up to $4,000 for home improvements that include air sealing, attic insulation, and hot water pipe insulation. The advanced package offers a rebate of up to $10,000 for improvements that can include installing energy-efficient windows, changing wall insulation, duct replacement, and upgrading your furnace.

After February, the rebate will be reduced to $4,000 for the advanced package.

Registration is required to attend. Call Menlo Park’s Environmental Programs at 330-6740 or email recycle@menlopark.org to register and receive the workshop location.
