Drivers and cyclists may encounter delays of a few minutes Sunday afternoon, July 22, on Portola Road between Woodside and Mountain Home roads in Woodside, due to the visit of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, the San Mateo County Office of Emergency Services said.
Mr. Romney is visiting the Woodside home of Siebel Systems founder Tom Siebel for a fundraising event.
Between 1 and 5 p.m. (at the latest), Portola Road will close briefly to allow passage of the Romney motorcade, Sgt. Joe Sheridan of the OES told the Almanac. There may also be periods of one-way traffic.
On the scene will be officers from the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office, the California Highway Patrol and the U.S. Secret Service.
