Firefighters extinguish grass fire along I-280

Firefighters extinguished a grass fire Sunday (6/30) along Interstate 280 just north of the Farm Hill Road interchange.

The two-alarm fire was reported at 3:25 p.m. and Woodside Fire Protection District crews were mopping up about 30 minutes later, firefighters said. Incident commanders said the fire involved about 1/8th of an acre.

Four engines companies fought the fire. A fire engine crew usually consists of four firefighters. A water tender was also on the scene to provide a backup supply.
