Menlo Park: Pregnant woman robbed in driveway

A man approached a pregnant woman sitting in a parked car and shattered a car window after demanding she hand over her property on Wednesday night, according to the Menlo Park police.

He fled on foot with $200 stolen cash. Officers arrived at the home, located in the 1200 block of Sevier Avenue, around 9:45 p.m.

The suspect was described as a black man in his 30s standing about 5 foot 8 inches tall. He was wearing a black, long-sleeve sweatshirt with a hood pulled over his forehead.

The 30-year-old victim, who is 8 months pregnant, had been sitting in her Toyota Camry in the driveway of her home after returning from a night out, the report said. She was treated for non-life-threatening cuts and other injuries at a local hospital.

Investigators ask that anyone with information about the case call 330-6300 or the anonymous tip line at 330-6395.

What a recidivist maggot to prey on one of the most helpless members of our society. The stress of a tramatic event of shattering a vehicle window, which takes tremendous force, could have sent the poor woman into premature labor.

I hope this shock doesn't cause a miscarriage.
