A 62-year-old man was allegedly stabbed by an ex-girlfriend after an argument in Menlo Park on Sunday, Dec. 7, according to police.

Officers were notified by Stanford Hospital around 6:50 p.m. that they were treating the man for multiple, non-life-threatening stab wounds. He described his assailant as Karen Coats, 49, of Redwood City. The two had previously dated, the police report said.

Ms. Coats and the victim had reportedly gotten into an argument in a parking lot in the 1100 block of El Camino Real, between Oak Grove and Santa Cruz avenues in Menlo Park. The argument escalated as the woman allegedly attacked him with a steak knife. Police said she drove him to Stanford Hospital for medical care.

She was arrested and booked into San Mateo County jail on charges of domestic violence and assault with a deadly weapon, according to the police.

The police ask that anyone with information about the case call 330-6300.
