Burglars enter two Atherton homes by breaking rear door glass

Saturday burglaries occurred while residents were not home

Burglars broke into two Atherton homes by breaking glass on rear doors on Saturday, Jan. 10, according to the Atherton Police Department. The residents were not at home at either residence.

The burglarized homes were on Stevenson Lane and Polhemus Avenue, police said.

The police gave three tips for making a home safer:

● Use an alarm system that is on even when you are at home.

● Close and secure all doors and windows when leaving home.

● Always keep some interior and exterior lights on at night.

Atherton police also asked residents to call the department at (650) 688-6500 "if you see something that does not seem right in your neighborhood."
