Friday: Bill Davidow on online techniques used to control consumer behavior

 

Bill Davidow, a resident of Woodside and author of the 2011 book "Overconnected: The promise and threat of the Internet," is scheduled to speak on Friday, Feb. 6, on the topic of "Controlling the Consumer via the Internet."

Companies that sell consumer goods are using sophisticated techniques to control customer behavior when buying items such as hamburgers, clothing and soap, Mr. Davidow says.
