Friday: Bill Davidow on online techniques used to control consumer behavior

Bill Davidow, a resident of Woodside and author of the 2011 book "Overconnected: The promise and threat of the Internet," is scheduled to speak on Friday, Feb. 6, on the topic of "Controlling the Consumer via the Internet."

Companies that sell consumer goods are using sophisticated techniques to control customer behavior when buying items such as hamburgers, clothing and soap, Mr. Davidow says.

This free event is open to the public and takes place at 7 p.m. in Independence Hall at 2955 Woodside Road in Woodside. Click here for more information, or call 650-851-6790.
