Valentine's Day may fall on a Saturday this year, but who is the San Mateo County Clerk's Office to say romance is dead?
"As a service to all those who wish to tie the knot on the most popular day for nuptials all year, we are extending our office hours to be open," said County Clerk Mark Church.
Last year, the county clerk's office performed 16 wedding ceremonies on Valentine's Day. Typically, the office conducts about four weddings a day.
Those marrying on Feb. 14 will receive a red rose, courtesy of the county, and if they made reservations to wed ahead of time, a complimentary DVD of the ceremony. The county also offers a live Internet broadcast of the wedding for $50.
