Tonight: Menlo Park Planning Commission looks at Sunset event permit, affordable housing

Sunset Magazine is asking for one last hurrah -- the Menlo Park Planning Commission tonight (Feb. 23) will review the publication's request for a permit to hold its final Sunset celebration Weekend June 6-7 on its campus, which was sold in December.

Other items on the meeting agenda include:

■ A review of the city's plans to increase its inventory of affordable housing, which will include a status update on a study of regional efforts underway by Menlo Park, 12 other San Mateo County cities, the county itself and Palo Alto.

■ The United Parcel Service's request to build an outdoor driver training course at 1355 Adams Court, located adjacent to the Menlo Business Park in the city's M2 industrial zone.

Review the complete agenda online. Tonight's meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the council chambers at the Civic Center at 701 Laurel St. It will be streamed live via the city's website.
