Burglary suspect nabbed in Menlo Park

He is a suspect in burglaries in Menlo Park, Palo Alto, Mountain View

Menlo Park Police arrested a 60-year-old man Tuesday (Feb. 10) in connection with a string of commercial burglaries in Mountain View and other local cities, including Menlo Park.

Alfred Banks, an East Palo Alto resident, was arrested on a warrant issued last month by the Mountain View Police Department.

He is suspected of burglarizing a number of Mountain View restaurants from May to mid-December last year. He would smash the front window or glass door with a heavy object, and then either take cash from the register or simply take the whole register, police said.

Surveillance video and subsequent investigation by Mountain View detectives led police to identify Mr. Banks as a suspect in the burglaries. He is also the suspect in a number of burglaries in Palo Alto, Menlo Park and Redwood City, police said.
