Update: Eastbound Marsh Road in Atherton to close Saturday

Atherton now plans to close eastbound Marsh Road from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 7, to repair a fence damaged when a catering truck crashed Wednesday night into the canal that runs along eastbound Marsh Road.

Both lanes of Marsh Road in Atherton will remain open today and Friday.

The crash, which occurred at about 8:23 p.m., damaged approximately 600 feet of chain link fence.

During the Saturday closure, traffic will be redirected. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.

Atherton police said the driver fled, but was later arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor hit-and-run and DUI. Police identified the driver as Jose Camachoramos, 39, of San Francisco.

Understanding everyone is innocent until proven guilty, it still would be nice to have the person who was driving this name posted. I think a great deterrent is knowing your name could end up in the paper.

And what's the name of the catering company? Can't read it from photo.

BTW thought Atherton was going to underground the canal and add a car lane and or bike lane.

Putting this channel underground, as it is East of the Atherton border, would permit a their lane.
That third lane could be a reversible car pool and emergency vehicle lane.

At present the Fire District has only Willow and Marsh to move responding fire apparatus from West to East and vice versa - and at many times of day both roads are totally clogged with traffic.

I'm sorry, that was an honest mistake. I'll edit my comment to reflect that. I did add the word "probably" though ;-)
