One of Woodside's favorite sons is getting married

Tyler MacNiven announces his engagement with a viral video

Tyler MacNiven, former star of "The Amazing Race," whose parents Margaret and Jamis own Buck's Restaurant in Woodside, is back in the news – again – this time for his wedding announcement video that's gone viral.

Tyler was featured in the pages of the Almanac in 1998 as a Woodside High School student when he campaigned for admission to Stanford, complete with picket signs. He didn't get in and ended up attending UC Santa Cruz.

Tyler was again featured in 2005, when he walked from one end of Japan to another and made a video about the adventure.

And then he appeared on, and won, the reality TV "Amazing Race" competition.

Now Tyler is apparently ready to settle down. Or maybe he's just found a partner in crime in Kelly Hennigan. You can decide after watching their "Operation: Save the Date," a 3-minute action thriller.

Now the two just need to figure out how to make sure everyone who sees the video doesn't expect to be invited to the wedding.

super cute - I nominate it for an academy award in the "short viral" category !! Best wishes on your wedding. Looking forward to yet another Tyler & Kelly sighting after the September wedding
