Tuesday: Images of exoplanets

Astronomers have proven that other solar systems exist and have detected more than 1,000 planets orbiting their own suns. Are any of them watery and life-supporting?

Astronomers have detected so-called exoplanets, but not seen them – until now. A presentation, with exoplanet images, by Stanford University physics Professor Bruce Macintosh is set for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory in Menlo Park. The event is sold out, but there is a waiting list and there will be streaming video.
