Wednesday: Meeting about Flood Park's future

 

San Mateo County will host a community meeting in Menlo Park on Wednesday, May 20, to talk about options for Flood Park. Translators and child care will be provided.

Representatives from design firm Gates + Associates and the county will facilitate the discussion. A second meeting will be held in August, and the county also plans to launch online surveys to solicit further community input.

The idea of Menlo Park's taking over management of the park, a 21-acre wedge of land between Bay Road and the Bayshore Freeway, has been floated in recent years, and resurfaced during a City Council meeting in April.

The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Arrillaga Family Recreation Center at 700 Alma St. in Menlo Park. For more information, call the county at 353-4020 or go to the county's parks website.
