Photos from Menlo Park block party

Almanac photographer Cristian Ponce shot these photos at the ninth annual Menlo Park Block Party on Wednesday night, June 17, along downtown Santa Cruz Avenue.

Kids and families enjoyed games, face painting, live music, food, classic cars and a performance by the Beatles tribute band The Sun Kings at Fremont Park.

Santa Cruz Avenue was closed for the event, sponsored by the Menlo Park Chamber of Commerce.

Had a nice time strolling around and listening to music last night, but was ravenous for something other than a long sit-down meal! What happened to the various food trucks, or other food vendors?

Please plan for casual food options next time!!

Refuge, Amicis, Bistro Vida, Left Bank - there are plenty of great dining options during the Block Party.
