Saturday: Library celebrates healthy eating at Family Fun Day

The Menlo Park Library is holding a "Family Fun Day" on Saturday, July 18, where there will be "good eats and good fun" while learning about eating well, according to Lucinda Abbott, the youth services librarian.

The event runs from 10:15 a.m. to noon at the library in the Menlo Park Civic Center at 800 Alma St.

There will be "delicious, simple snacks and take-home recipes," "cool art to remind you to eat well all the time" and an opportunity to "whirl up a human powered fruit smoothie on the Blender Bike," according to the announcement.

Art teachers Betsy Halaby and Susie Peyton will be there to translate their "love of learning into fun and educational art experiences for kids," the announcement says.

This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Menlo Park Library.

All ages are welcome and no registration is required, but guardians must remain with children.

We can't do it without you.
