Woodside: Roadside brush fire extinguished along I-280


Firefighters responded to a small roadside brush fire along Interstate 280 in Woodside on Sunday morning (Aug. 2).

The incident was reported around 11:45 a.m. along southbound I-280 near the Woodside Road off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The fire was small, and under control by 11:57 a.m., according to Cal Fire.

The fire was on the side of the freeway right before the southbound Woodside/84 offramp, very suspicious for a cigarette butt thrown out of a car window... The FD was on it with several rigs and a helicopter and had it put out right away.. Love them!!

Is Woodside planning to remove any of the eucalyptus trees along main roads as Portola Valley has done, to reduce fir hazards? Where can we find out about this?
