Saturday: Kiwanis Club 'Arts & Appetizers' event in Atherton

The Kiwanis Club of Menlo Park will hold an "Arts & Appetizers" event featuring local artists at a private residence in Atherton on Saturday, Aug. 22, from 5 to 9 p.m.

"This event brings together several top local gallery artists, and showcases various art styles and media" said Holly Hansen, chair of the event. Wine, appetizers and desserts will be served as guests browse and buy from the artists and take part in a silent auction.

Among the artists are oil painter Karen White and pastel artist Teresa Ruzzo, who show at Viewpoints Gallery in Los Altos; Susan Fast, whose jewelry is at The Main Gallery in Redwood City; Sergiy and Galyna Pecherskyy, whose Two Wanderers Fine Art Photography features photos of the West and Jeff Davison of Wood Turning Obsession with wood bowls and other wood crafts.

Tickets are $40. A percentage of the artists' sales and the silent auction will help the Kiwanis Club raise funds to help local organizations, including scholarships for Menlo-Atherton High School graduates, Special Games for physically challenged youth, Rebuilding Together, St. Anthony's Dining Hall, Tour de Cure for Diabetes, and Key Club of Menlo-Atherton High School.
