Want to attend Pope's address in D.C.?

It will be standing room only, on grass, to hear Pope Francis speak to a joint session of Congress on Sept. 24, and the view will likely be via JumboTron, but some number of constituents from the 18th Congressional District, represented by Anna Eshoo, D-Menlo Park, will be on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.

Exactly which constituents will be a matter of luck. Ms. Eshoo is holding a lottery for "a limited number" of tickets. As of Aug. 28, her office had received about 400 applications, spokesman Charles Stewart said.

Go to tinyurl.com/kgt484 to apply. Deadline to apply is noon Pacific time Tuesday, Sept. 8.
