M-A grad Melvin getting a contract extension with the A's

 

The Oakland Athletics announced a contract extension with Menlo-Atherton High grad and current A' manager Bob Melvin through the 2018 season on Wednesday.

Melvin, in his 12th season as a manager, his fifth with the A's, has an overall 878-847 mark entering Wednesday night's game against the Houston Astros and their manager, Stanford grad A.J. Hinch.
