Saturday: Electric vehicle show in San Mateo

Menlo Spark is a co-sponsor

Curious about the latest in electric vehicles? Menlo Spark, a group working to reduce carbon emissions in Menlo Park, is co-sponsoring an electric vehicle show in San Mateo on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Franklin Templeton Campus at Saratoga Drive and Franklin Parkway.

The latest electric vehicles from Mercedes, BMW, Ford, Fiat, Nissan, and Volkswagen will be shown, as will other types of electric vehicles such as electric scooters from EcoReco, a variety of e-bikes, and the electric motorcycle used by the San Mateo Police Department. Test drives or rides will be available for many models.

The event is co-sponsored by the city of San Mateo, Menlo Spark and Plug In America. For more information go to the San Mateo Drive Electric Week website.

"For people considering making the switch from carbon-polluting fossil fuel to a more sustainable electric car (or bike or scooter), the Electric Vehicle Expo is a great place to test out all the climate-friendly choices," said Diane Bailey, executive director of Menlo Spark.
