JobTrain, the Menlo Park-based nonprofit specializing in vocational training and placement, will hold an open house on Thursday, Sept. 17, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at its 31,000-square-foot training facility at 1200 O’Brien Drive.

Guests will be able to tour the facility, talk to instructors and students, and watch and take part in demonstrations. Activities include making a wooden toolbox with construction students, preparing hors d’oeuvres with culinary students, getting blood pressure tested by medical assisting students, and testing math skills on the computer with high school equivalency diploma students.

The organization says it will also make several major announcements during the program part of the evening, which starts at 6:30 p.m.

Food will be provided by WISE SV’s new Rendezvous Cafe. WISE SV is a new joint venture between between JobTrain and CALSO.
