Saturday: Woodside's 'Day of the Horse' celebrates Spanish horse culture

The 11th annual free Woodside Day of the Horse will be celebrated Saturday, Oct. 10, with activities from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Woodside Town Hall and a progressive trail ride from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This year's theme,"Fiesta de Caballo," salutes Spanish horse culture.

Family activities include Wells Fargo Stagecoach rides, pony rides, a petting zoo, and decorating horse cookies. At the Back in the Saddle booth, there will be information about local riding programs and lessons.

Progressive trail riders eat at trail stops throughout the Woodside trails area. An End of the Trail celebration will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Mounted Patrol grounds.

Day of the Horse is sponsored by the Woodside-area Horse Owneers Association.
