Firefighters raise money for burn victims

Firefighters James Kanzler, Will Fitzsimmons and Joseph Foster helped serve at the 15th annual Pancake Breakfast on Oct. 3 at the Menlo Park Fire Protection District's Station 1 at 300 Middlefield Road in Menlo Park.

About 1,000 people came for pancakes and fire safety demonstrations.

The event, cosponsored by the Junior League of Palo Alto-Mid Peninsula, raised $14,000 for the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation, which provides services and programs for burn survivors in California.

Submitted by Frances Freyberg of the Junior League of Palo Alto-Mid Peninsula.
