An alleged gang member was arrested Monday morning (Oct. 26) in connection with a shooting earlier this month in North Fair Oaks, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s deputies said Luis Acosta, 29, is a suspect in the shooting reported on Oct. 17 at 2:10 a.m. near First Avenue and Middlefield Road.

A woman in her 40s was found suffering from a gunshot injury that was not considered life-threatening, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

At 5:40 a.m. on Oct. 26, Mr. Acosta was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and being a felon with a firearm. He was booked into Maguire Correctional Facility on $750,000 bail.
