Thousands of nails that spilled on the Dumbarton Bridge in a five-vehicle crash this morning (Nov. 2) have been cleaned up and the bridge has reopened, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported shortly before 7:30 a.m. on the eastbound lanes of the bridge, the CHP reported.
One person suffered minor injuries in the crash, which spilled several thousand nails onto the roadway, Menlo Park Fire Protection District Chief Harold Schapelhouman said.
Two lanes of the bridge were closed while they were cleared of the vehicles and debris, including the spilled nails. The bridge fully reopened by about 9:30 a.m.
