Boys water polo: Woodside beats Burlingame in PAL tourney

The Woodside varsity boys water polo team won the third and final game in the PAL Tournament at Menlo-Atherton High School on Saturday (Nov. 7) to finish fifth overall in the tournament. (See Scoreboard.)

The Wildcats showed strong defense and offensive teamwork drives against the Burlingame Panther team, resulting in a score of Woodside 11, Burlingame 8.

Woodside senior Oliver Mancebo led with five goals, followed by sophomore Giorgio Fatica with three goals, and one goal each contributed by senior Leo Franco-Munoz, senior Benjamin Loewen, and junior Max Untrecht.

Senior Eric Helseth had 10 goalie saves in the game, with two saves coming from five-meter shots, followed by junior Stefan Buhr adding one save in the fourth period.
