Los Gatos tops Woodside in CCS water polo opener

The Woodside High varsity boys water polo team finished the season facing strong competition in its match with Los Gatos in the first round of the Central Coast Section Division I championship games at Monta Vista High School on Tuesday, Nov. 10.

The final score was Los Gatos 12 and Woodside 8.

In Woodside High's first CCS showing since 2010, the Wildcats played hard from start to finish against the Los Gatos Cats, with Woodside junior Max Untrecht leading the Wildcats scoring with four goals.

He was followed by sophomore Giorgio Fatica with two goals, and seniors Leo Franco-Munoz and Oliver Mancebo, who delivered delivering one goal apiece.

Senior Eric Helseth had a season personal best with 17 goalie saves in the game.
