Belle Haven Bikes, a "community hub" and bike workshop, will host a "Unity Ride" Saturday morning, Nov. 14, set to depart from the McNeil Family Clubhouse at 401 Pierce Road in Menlo Park at 10 a.m.
Lunch will be provided and some extra bikes and helmets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
According to Cindy Welton, vice chair of the Menlo Park Bicycle Commission, bikers of all ages who attend the ride are encouraged to meet at the clubhouse at 9 a.m. before riders take off at 10 a.m. on their planned route through Bedwell-Bayfront Park.
During rest stops through the park, Ms. Welton said, there will be an educational component to the ride to learn more about the park and its environment.
"Menlo Park Civil Engineer and mom Azalea Mitch will tell us a little bit about the Salt Pond Restoration project, the salt procurement process and how landfills work," she said.
All bikers must wear helmets.
