Schools receive Wells Fargo grants

 

Three local schools &3150; La Entrada, Oak Knoll and Woodside Elementary – have each received $1,000 grants from Wells Fargo Bank.

"These grants support organizations that promote academic achievement for students who qualify as low or moderate income as well as organizations that provide training for teachers who work with these student populations," a statement from Wells Fargo said.

Beth Polito, superintendent of the Woodside Elementary School District, said the district supports students who live in the Ravenswood School District and come to Woodside through the Tinsley transfer program "with outreach services that support their full participation in the Woodside school program," including scholarships that cover extra-curricular activities including overnight field trips and special events.

Wells Fargo gave grants to 30 schools, which can use the money as they see fit.
