Menlo girls open basketball tourney with a victory

 

With junior Sam Erisman pouring in 23 points, the Menlo School girls jumped out to an early lead and cruised to a 61-41 victory over Lincoln (SF) in the opening round of the Steve Geremoni Old School Basketball Tournament on Monday at Notre Dame-Belmont.

The Knights (4-2) grabbed a 30-17 halftime lead and maintained a solid lead after intermission with senior Hannah Paye adding 16 points and sophomore Mallory North pulling down 10 rebounds.

Menlo will play on Tuesday at 6 p.m., facing either Moreau Catholic or Hillsdale.
