Intruder found in Atherton home Monday morning

Only a blanket reported stolen

Atherton police say a homeowner on Winchester Drive woke up Monday morning, Dec. 28, at 7:20 a.m. to find an intruder in the house.

The intruder had a blanket over his head, and ran from the house taking only the blanket, a statement from the Atherton Police Department said.

The police bulletin suggests that residents keep doors and windows closed and locked and alarm systems turned on at night as well as when they are away from home. Police also suggest keeping exterior lights on at night.
