West Menlo Park: Suspect sought in robbery of Country Corner store

Sheriff's deputies are looking for a suspect in an armed robbery Friday night of the Country Corner market at 3207 Alameda de las Pulgas in West Menlo Park.

A man entered the small market at 9:44 p.m., showed an employee a gun and demanded money, sheriff's deputies said.

The employee gave the man an undisclosed amount of cash, and the man fled, running east on Monterey Avenue when he was last seen, deputies said.

Deputies searched the area for the man but did not find him.

The suspect is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall with a slim build. He was wearing a black jacket with a hood, a blue bandana over his face and light-colored blue or gray jeans, the Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies have no description of the man's race or age.

Anyone with more information about the incident is asked to call sheriff's detectives at (650) 363-4055 or (650) 363-4064. Callers can remain anonymous by using the Sheriff's Office anonymous tip line at (800) 547-2700.

The source is from a third party that heard it from a sherrif's daughter. They caught the suspect with the bag, money, gun...
