SHP, Menlo girls open their WBAL soccer seasons with wins

The Sacred Heart Prep and Menlo School girls both had rough soccer preseasons as the local rivals combined for a very lackluster 4-6-3 record. Fortunately for both, preseason matches are behind them.

The West Bay Athletic League (Foothill Division) season opened for both on Tuesday and each squad responded in kind with shutout victories.

The defending champion Gators rolled to an 8-0 victory over visiting Harker while the Knights posted a 2-0 triumph over nemesis King's Academy in Sunnyvale.
