New exhibit: 'Fighting the Bite'

A new exhibit about the fight to rid the Peninsula of mosquitoes is now at the San Mateo County History Museum, 2200 Broadway in Redwood City.

Titled "Fighting the Bite," the photo display will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the San Mateo County Mosquito and Vector Control District.

In the early 1900s, mosquitoes plagued the Peninsula. The exhibit will feature photos representing the district's work over the last century. Admission is $6 for adults, $4 for seniors, and free for children 5 and under.
