Menlo Park: City names managers of finance, human resources

After five months of transitions, Menlo Park's administrative services department is now fully staffed, the city of Menlo Park announced Jan. 22.

Rosendo Rodriguez is the city's new finance and budget manager as of Jan. 13. With 19 years of experience in public and private sector finance work, he comes from the San Mateo County Mosquito and Vector Control District, where he worked as finance director, and then as interim district manager for several months.

"Mr. Rodriguez is widely acknowledged for cleaning up the District's finances following discovery that his predecessor embezzled District funds," the city said in its announcement.

Lenka Diaz is the new human resources manager, starting Jan. 26. She has 18 years of public sector experience, including as a senior analyst in Redwood City's human resources division, and previously with the city of Newark in various administrative posts.

Gene Garces was promoted to information technology manager on Dec. 28 and will manage the city's efforts to "undertake significant improvements to its technology," the city said.
